Ralph was an amazing young man when we were close friends at PHS. We were in a band together at PHS along with Dave St. John, John "Duffy" Duffy, Bob MClean and me. Ralph and I stayed friends for a couple of years after PHS but then lost touch years later. I tried to locate him about ten years ago and called him in Las Vegas where he was a design consult with a major firm that builds the big hotels. Ralph was very successful. We talked a few minutes on the phone and promised to follow up and get together when I would be in Vegas again. We never did. Sadly, I looked him up on the net tonight to make good on the get together idea of years back and discovered his obituary online in a Las Vegas newspaper. He passed "suddenly and unexpectedly" July 7, 2012 - 8 months ago. A total shock. I have told my wife so much about him...Even though I had not seen him in years, knowing he is gone now is hard to believe and harder to accept. For any of us who knew him, he was a gracious, smart, charismatic soul and wise is so may ways and a man everyone loved. Remember when he sang "If I Ruled the World" in a play at Wilson? Well, I still heard the girls rave about that a few years later at PHS and I went to Marshall!. He was unique and memorable and could sing. Girls were nuts about him. He was my best buddy in High School. He will never be forgotten. And if you are reading this, please make that call - reach out to your old friends from PHS before reaching out can not longer be done. I recently had the same experience looking up Dave St. John and found he passed in 2009. Look your PHS friends up when you think about it and call. Ralphy - we will miss you, buddy. Take care...
