Just found out that there is a two-day Arroyo Seco rock festival at the Rose Bowl the same weekend as our PHS Reunion, June 23 & 24. This may have an impact on Hotel availability so you should make your reservations soon. You can use the Room Reservations link on the left menu for info on how to get a good deal at the Hilton. (An added benefit to being in Pasadena that weekend could be going to the Rose Bowl after our Sunday Brunch!)

On Saturday, June 23rd, if you plan on going to the morning events at Victory Park, please remember that at the south end of the 'Senior Parking Lot' there is a large farmers market every Saturday.  Many attendees use the Victory Park parking lot off of Paloma on the south side of Victory Park.  So, just a thought, but it might be wise to park on Paloma west of Altadena Drive and then you will be just actoss the street from our reunion event rather than having to put up with the (literal) croud of farmers market attendees flooding both of the Victory Park parking lots!  Hope to see you there!

...Still living in Pasadena and caring for my mother, who will be 99 yrs young on 5/22!  She goes twice a week to a Strength and Weight Training Class --DO YOU?  Also, a few times each week she enjoys watching the sun go down with her boyfriend (his name is Jack Daniels and he lives in a shot glass)!!

...Still have my beach house down in San Clemente which I bought in '74 for the outrageous price of $17K, and wish the taxes lower - 'got to pay a whopping $515 in property taxes on it this year!  My other real estate is doing well up in the hllls just inland from Cayucos and below Cambria.  It's funny how (in California) a property can double or quadruple in value in that area if you have a building permit that has been approved by the Coastal Commission!

We are grateful to Jeff Cain for his donation to the 50th reunion. He has done so as a tribute to his wife of 46 years and our class mate Bev (Pickett) Cain. She passed away last April after a long fight with cancer. His donation is for "68" X 2 = $136.00. He has told me that his heart is just not in it to attend the reunion after losing Bev.  We wish you well and may peace be with you this day and always.

We are looking for some travel arrangement help for Richard Pennington. If you, or a family member live in the Atlanta Georgia area and could help Richard it would be appreciated. He needs to get from the Greyhound bus station to the Atlanta airport. The second option would be for him to drive his car to Atlanta and park at someone home. Then, if possible, give him a ride to the airport. He will be flying out on Wednesday June 20th departing about 1:30 PM and return to Atlanta on Monday June 25th about 11:50 PM. If you can help please contact myself at (503)-997-3631 or email me at; claywerts@yahoo.com or contact Richard at (865) 297-6496 or email him at ; richlp2050@gmail.com. THANK YOU

I have received a number of questions regarding parking fees at the Hilton. The Hilton has valet service at        $11.00 per day. They have self parking for $10.00 per day. There are no in & out parking privileges unless you are a hotel guest.  If you call the Hilton they will quote you the NEW parking prices. On Saturday you MUST tell the parking attendant that you are at the Hilton for the P.H.S. reunion. I have been told that the parking attendants have been made aware of the discount rates. There are also other parking possibilities that might include parking on the street using the parking meters or parking in a nearby residential area ? You could car pool. Talk to a classmate Friday night or Saturday at Victory Park to make arrangements to share a ride.

The deadline is fast approaching for you to take advantage of the discount price to register for the 50th reunion. You can purchase your ticket for $120.00 per person. This price will expire on April 30. The price of a ticket will return to the regular price of $130.00 per person after that date. Be sure to include an additional $20.00 for the memory book. PLEASE print the registration form and answer all of the questions. You can mail your check with the form to ;  P.H.S. class of 1968 ,    2212 Paseo Court,  Las Vegas NV    89117-2758. We welcome donations for the reunion, please indicate "Donation" and mailed to the same address.

If you haven't noticed we are getting old, There is no assurance that another reunion will be held or that you and I will last long enough to go if one is held.  PLEASE COME , This will be a "once in a lifetime" event so don't be one of those that will look back and say " I wish I had come"

Jeff Cain

Thank you everyone for the well wishes.  The weekend of the reunion would have been Bev's 68th birthday.  I feel the need to spend this time with my kids and grandkids.  It would not feel right to me to be at the reunion when they are alone during this time.  I wish all my fellow PHS grads the best and know you will have a great reunion, thanks to Clay and Modie.

Does anybody know how to contact (or have any information about) David Marks, David Potter, or Corine Jennings? Thank you.

04/12/18 10:50 AM #568

James Havelin (Havelin)

To Michael Coates,  I have a resource which I use sparinglythat may be useful.  Can you tell me anything more about each of these individuals ?  For example, their dates of birth, have they been married to the best of your knowledge, what are the names of any brothers, sisters or parents  ?  What, if anything can you tell me about their college or vocational interests ?  My telephone number is 619-792-6173 and my email address is jdhcpp@yahoo.com, if you want to relay any info you can share without it going totally public.  I have a full day planned today, but will be available after 1600 hours PST.  I'll try for you, but need more info.  Best regards, Jim

04/13/18 10:12 AM #569

Michael Coates

Thanks for your generous offer to help, Jim, but I recall virtually nothing about these old friends' personal lives, and I've had no contact with them since graduation. I thought perhaps somebody else might know something. According to this site's list of classmates, Corine Jennings' married name is or was Ownbey. Beyond that, I know nothing.

Michael

Christine Rebstock (Nonn)

I am so excited to come back to visit California, and to attend the Class Reunion. I live in Tennessee and

have not been

back to California in the last 20 years, so I am way over due.  I am anxious to see Sierra Madre too, where I grew up.

I had great memories of PHS and being on Drill Team.  Hope to catch up and see fellow class mates.

I was sorry to see that Mike Baugh passed away.  He was my first date when I was 15 yrs. and in 10th grade.

Everyone have a safe trip to reunion.  So looking forward to see my friend Joyce Pollock (Hanson)

I am so excited you are joining us, Christine. We were so blessed to have been on the best drill team! Come and see me at the registration desk.

Gary Hesse

Does anyone know what happened to Karen Rawlings?  She was on the drill team and lived up on New York Drive.  I last saw her one day around Pasadena in about 1975 after I had returned from Viet Nam.  I think that she was living in the San Diego area.  Just curious, she has not registered on this web site.  Looking forward to seeing many of you at the reunion in 2 months.
