Ann Simmons (Burgr)

from Pamela Melvin Mandel:

Died in Columbus, TX July 10, 2001. Survived by two children.

Ann was a wonderful person! I believe we first met at Eliot junior high school. She had the most wonderful spirit and smile. I think my father fell instantly in love with her at a father-daughter dinner. She went to the University of California, Berkeley, as did I, and met her husband Fred (deceased 2011) their freshman year. Although I kept up with them for some years, we fell out of touch when they moved to Texas. The world was a much better place with her in it. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

I remember this beautiful face. I can't believe we are in this phase of our lives. It came so quickly. It is so important to think about what happens to us when we die and search for the TRUTH. It was so great for me to see you,all at the reunion. I really liked serving on the committee

She was a delight and a beauty.  We both went to Berkeley but sort of went separate ways around the community after our freshman year.  That year we were in the same dorm complex.  I remember doing our senior PHS career day together at the City of Hope and frankly was amazed such a lovely would want to spend time with me at all.  I was pretty shy around the girls of PHS for sure.

I am confident she blessed many throughout her life and it was sad to read of her early passing.
