Yes so many things to do in SoCal while we were in school.   One thing...walking along Colorado Blvd on New Years eve.....seeing the cars cruising the blvd (and watching them drag racing) and the crowds camping out on the sidewalks.   Some of us sold programs for the Rose Parade while walking the blvd....I can remember selling them but now can't remember where the money was going.....one of the school's clubs?

I had to run errands all over Pasadena yesterday, so here is what I saw on the 'school front':  PHS looking good, but the Senior Quad no longer has bushes surrounding it due to drought.  Elliot looks good up on North Lake - "Marshall Fundamental School" looks sad from the back with lots more temp classrooms while Wilson is always crowded in front as almost every child going to the elementary school across the street is dropped off and picked up by a parent with an automobile!  Wilson's tennis courts still have the rust encrusted chain link fences that looked old when we were in Jr. High School!  There is a brand new "middle school in Sierra Madre that looks great

     The Pasadena Hilton will be the place for the P.H.S. 50th reunion.

Modie and I traveled to Pasadena last month. We spend 4 days (at our own expense) meeting and interviewing with 4 hotels and 6 venues. After an extensive search the Hilton was selected. The Hilton is in the process of a complete remodel of their property. The remodel will be completed by the end of this year. The Hilton has made our reunion a priority and has offered us a VERY special rate of $145.00 per night plus taxes. Their normal rate is more than $200.00 per night. They have extended this price to anyone interested in arriving earlier and/or staying longer. This special nightly rate is correlated to our Saturday night buffet and Sunday morning brunch. For that reason, we ask that you PLEASE book your room at the Pasadena Hilton at 168 South Los Robles. In the near future you will find a button to "click" on our P.H.S. web site to make a reservation directly with the Pasadena Hilton.

                     PLEASE BOOK YOUR ROOM WITH THE PASADENA HILTON.

The 50th reunion will begin on Friday afternoon June 22nd 2018 at the Pasadena High School cafeteria and Quad. We can begin arriving about 4:00 P.M. We can then examine the contents of the time capsule that was placed in front of the school 50 years ago. Wear those letterman jackets and drill team uniforms and bring along your year book and pictures. You will look great with your new  bulldog shirts that you can order online. Soft drinks and snacks will be there all evening. The In-N-Out food truck will be there for our dinner starting about 6:00 P.M. We are planning for live music so everyone can dance the night away. We will meet Saturday morning at Victory Park beginning about 10:00 A.M. until about 2:00 P.M. We can socialize and have some fun and games. We hope to have  food trucks for you to purchase your lunch and have music. We will return to the Hilton for a no-host bar and hors d'oeuvres that will begin at 5:00 P.M. The buffet dinner will begin serving at 6:00 P.M. A chat room with memorabilia will be next to the dining room. Our Saturday evening event will conclude about midnight. On Sunday morning, our final 50th reunion event will be a buffet brunch beginning at 10:00 A.M. and concluding at 1:00 P.M.. To Dave Ungerer -- My grandfather (Kenneth A. Gordon) was an architect in Pasadena and lived on Altadena Drive where my mother grew up.  He designed and build a Tudor-style home on Cliff Drive at Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach and my mother and her siblings spent many summers there.  The house burned down in the '30's but was rebuilt.  Cresent Bay and Seal Rock are still my favorite places to go to the beach.  I used to "bark" at the seals and they would bark back!

Thanks Mark for your donation and offer to help.  Mark Connal is the leader in the Make a Donation pack with his humorous and much appreciated extra $68 to make a $568 donation.  Since Mark also helped out the class of '67 with their reunion last month so that the classmates could enjoy their time and leave the details to a volunteer, he has a lot of Great ideas for our reunion.

Mark has but us over the half way mark to our goal of $10,000 in donations.  We really want to make the 50th a memorable and eventful time.  We have filled the 3 day event with all sorts of opportunities to mingle, chat and reconnect.  It all takes time and money to have the insurance, vendors, music, facilities, etc. to do.

We are pleased to announce that we are able to provide you with 3 meals, drinks, snacks, desserts and more for $130.00 per person for the 50th reunion. But wait, there's more ! Registration will begin December 1st 2017. If we receive your check on or before April 1st 2018 you will be given a $10.00 discount per person. Send us your check, sorry no credit cards, and $120.00 per person will be your cost for this 3 day event. Everyone registering  after April 1st 2018 will need to pay $130.00 per person.  Anyone purchasing a ticket at the door will be charged $140.00 per person. The cost of a ticket is the same regardless of the number of days attended. We are happy to tell you that a memory book of the reunion events will be made available for $20.00. This will need to be paid in advance of the reunion. Memory books purchased later will be $25.00 per book. There has been a great deal of time and effort put into this event by many people on your behalf. Please make plans to join us June 22nd, 23rd, & 24th 2018. If you are in So. Calif. on Thursday June 21st you are invited to join us for dinner at North Woods restaurant. THIS IS NOT PART OF THE REUNION. We will gather at 4:00 P.M. for drinks and then dinner.
