Hi Rob - I just bought one for myself and one for my husband. We like the polo shirts too. The total for both was @ 67.00. If you buy now, there is a discount. I expected to pay @ 85.00 , and the final cost was lower with a discount. Would you like to join me on the registration committee? I would love to have your input.

Rod, if you look a the Home Page of this web site you will see the ads for the shirts on the right side. Click on that link and you will have all the information you will need.  They are good quality and just remember that it takes 4 - 6 weeks to get.  Good luck and send us a picture of yourself with the shirt on. Modie

Hello again to all of our classmates!  I've been very busy as a volunteer at Santa Anita for the Breeder's Cup races one weekend ago past!  I was in charge of the Owner's Escorts who broke a path for the horse owners one race before their horses were racing, escorting their entourage to the saddle barn, paddock, and then to their race seats/suites/boxes, etc.  I went to the winner's circle three times over the two days, and escorted the owner's party for Arrogate, who beat California Chrome in the $6 Million final race to the winners circle and on to the celebrations, interviews, etc.  A great week to be a volunteer; something that I do not usually do!  However, I might be in charge of this group of volunters next year at Del Mar!

So, with more time to donate to more later things, I am going to donate some time to the reunion and will decide within a few days as to which group can use my resources, as I still live in Hastings Ranch!!

Yea, I am going to make a donation to the group, and will buy a shirt; that's the least that I can do at this time.

Also, from reading some of the message forum contributions from you awesome classmates, and preliminary suggestions of our classmates (who are advocating) participating in some of their PHS organizations at our 50th reunion in their 'then' uniforms, I challenge every one of the Lettermen to wear (and fit into) the Letterman jackets which they had in 1968!  I was 185 lbs at graduation, getting up to 250 lbs 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with Stage I, Phase I Colo-Rectal Cancer, and then now down to 210 lbs!!!  Shooting for 185 lbs by our reunion!!

...Other than attending the reunion, a great 18 month challenge to make positive steps with regards to your health so that we can then look forward to organizing our 60th and later reunions!!

LET'S ALL MAKE 2018 GREAT!!

Gary Hesse

Hi Gary

Must be fun at Santa Anita.  My grandfather had a thoroughbred ranch in San Dimas - Lone Hill Exit off of 205 FWY.  Is houses now.  He had a stallion who came in second at the Santa Anita Handicap in 1945.  I have a painting of the horse and some loving cups and a gold plate from the races he won.

Ok, so my former boss' sister married into the Jackson family of the Kendall Jackson winery. The Jackson's own several race horses which have won several medals. And that's all I know about horse racing.

Interesting notes about Santa Anita and San Dumas. Worked off Lone Hill in San Dumas for SCE from 2001-2013 when I retired. Lots of horse ranches in that area. Was part owner of colt with friends in Apple Valley who raised horses for show. Too bad California Chrome didn't win Breeder's Cup Gary. Used to drive by Santa Anita when going home from meetings in Rosemead. Area is still very special!

Judd,

I started working for SCE in 1980 and retired in 2012.  I was in engineering, transmission planning and operations.  I was asked about two years ago to help them start a new business and am currently working part time for Edison Transmssion.  I have had a great run with Edison!  I assume you were in T&D in San Dimas??  Who did you work with?

Gary-You probably don't remember us meeting when you managed ECC.  I worked for Power Production, the last 13 years in San Dumas as Department Safety Manager and Project Manager. Spent 1st 21 years in Steam plants including managing Solar Two thru construction and its run in late '90's. I remember that you were from PHS. Good luck on Edison Transmission. Didn't know SCE was setting up that type of subsidiary.

hope the larger majority of the 1200 of our group have something more to say about who they are, rather than about whom they served

Wow, this past month has been full of bad news for me as I have learned of several of our classmates that are no longer with us. Beck Sanborn even though I didn't know him very well, Patti Hawkins whom I was married to out of High School for a short time passed in 2013 and yesterday I learned that my old friend Craig Stewart passed in 2015.

This gives me time to reflect on how blessed I am that I am healthy and yet never know when our time comes to say goodby to our loved ones and friends.

Truely want to see as many of my classmates and friends at our 50th and maybe even rekindle some old friendships.

Hope you all feel the same and find out if there are other classmates that have not registered on this site and have them sign up.  If not just being them along to the reunion.  Also let us know if you hear about anyone else that has passed on so that we can honor them on our In Memory list.

Happy Holidays to everyone and Good Health.

Shocked to hear Craig Stewart passed away. Great guy and a friend to us both. Grateful to be alive.
